Study launched for North Long-Haul Inter-Regional Railway Project

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) of the Philippines and the Centre for Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) have contracted Systra and PwC Philippines/Isla Lipana & Co to conduct studies for the North Long-Haul Inter-Regional Railway Project. The study, which is expected to be completed by mid-2024, will cover the financing, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the new railway infrastructure. The North Long Haul Inter-Regional Railway Project comprises a rail network of over 800 km for passenger and freight transport, connecting the capital region with three other regions on the island of Luzon. It is to serve Clark Airport, Poro Point, Laoag International Airport, Port Irene, and Lal-lo Airport.
