SNC-Lavalin consortium selected to implement first phase of Calgary LRT

A consortium led by the Canadian infrastructure company SNC-Lavalin has been selected as the partner for the implementation of the first phase of the Calgary Green Line Light Rail Transit (LRT) project. SNC-Lavalin, along with its partners, will support the City of Calgary in delivering project functions such as commercial management, technical support, project controls, and construction management. The first phase of the Calgary Green LRT line is planned to be 18 km long, 3 km of which will be in tunnel, and include a total of 15 stations. The project was launched in 2020, and the total length of the line will be 46 km. In 2021, Calgary contracted Spanish rolling stock manufacturer CAF to supply 28 Urbos light rail vehicles (LRV).
