The Spanish infrastructure operator Adif has awarded Siemens Rail Automation a contract worth €7.5 million to modernise the traffic control centres (CRC) at Chamartín-Clara Campoamor and Manzanares stations on the Madrid Cercanías suburban network. The renewal includes the installation of new Centralised Traffic Control (CTC) systems in the CRCs. The modernisations are part of a €72 million plan to renew the software and hardware of all CRCs on the main railway network.
