Swiss state railway SBB has published a tender for the procurement of a total of 17 road-rail vehicles, which are to be put into operation in stages by 2030, starting with five vehicles in 2025. SBB plans to award framework agreements with a term of 78 months with two providers, which also include the option of two one-year extensions. The vehicles will be required in various service facilities and plants of SBB and its subsidiaries. In addition to supplying the vehicles, the contractual partners' services also include the preparation of documentation, project planning support, obtaining authorisations and staff training. Maintenance contracts will also be awarded.
