Rhomberg Sersa to refurbish IR's track maintenance machines

Irish state railway IR has awarded a contract to Rhomberg Sersa for the refurbishment of five on-track infrastructure maintenance machines: three 08 Universal tamping machines, one 09-2x Plain Line Tamper and one ballast cleaner of the type RM 90. It is planned that these refurbishment works will be realised over a maximum four-year period, and it is intended that only one of these machines will not be available for service at any given time over the life of the contract. The refurbishment works will include but are not limited to renewal and overhaul of tamping tines, conveying system, rewiring of electrical systems, upgrading of hydraulics, pneumatics, bogies, measuring systems, structural repairs, and painting.
