ProRail revises plans to redesign Amsterdam Central Station for Eurostar services

Dutch infrastructure manager ProRail is revising plans for the redevelopment of Amsterdam Central Station to allow Eurostar to operate continuous high-speed services (HSR) to/from London during the redevelopment. Originally, ProRail had decided to prohibit Eurostar from using Amsterdam Central Station from June 2024 to May 2025 due to a lack of space capacity. Eurostar and other stakeholders, including ProRail, the Dutch state railway NS, and the Ministry of Infrastructure, contracted the Swiss consultancy SMA to examine alternatives. SMA recommended closing the existing Eurostar terminal later and opening the new terminal earlier. The decision on the revised plans is to be made by the end of October 2023.
