Preparations for Arna – Stanghelle line approved

The Arna – Stanghelle joint project, a cooperation between the Norwegian infrastructure manager Bane NOR and the Norwegian Road Administration Statens Vegvesen, will receive €26 million (NOK 300 million) for further preparatory work. The project aims to build a safer and faster road and rail link between Arna and Stanghelle, including a major shortening of the route, eight new tunnels and a double-track upgrade. The cost of building the section between Arna and Stanghelle is €1.9 billion. Construction could start in 2024.
