Geismar Italia has had two types of rail inspection vehicles tested for use on the Irish network by Austrian testing company PJM. As an accredited testing body in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025, PJM realised approval tests in the areas of driving technology, brakes, and acoustics. The tests for the evaluation of driving characteristics were completed in accordance with EN 14363. For brake technology approval, static and dynamic tests were realised in accordance with EN 14033. The acoustic measurements are realised in accordance with TSI Noise 2014/1304/EU. The project will be completed in the summer 2023. The two rail inspection vehicles are a VMB Track Recording Vehicle and an Ontrack Inspection Car for examining track installations.
