The Swiss parliament, the Council of States, has instructed the government to concentrate more on the construction of a Swiss transport hub, and thus on the expansion of long-distance rail transport. There is talk of project planning and construction for all missing sections for long-distance services from border to border, both between south and north and between east and west. The government is to submit applications for the corresponding budgets.
