Ourense railway station becomes a hub for HSR

Spanish railway infrastructure manager Adif AV has contracted Copasa, Constructora San José, and Syneox Rail to develop Ourense railway station into a hub for high-speed rail (HSR) services. The contract, worth €111.7 million, includes the addition of eleven tracks, including three standard-gauge tracks, the extension of the station building, and the construction of new pedestrian walkways to connect to the bus terminal. The redesign of Ourense station complements earlier work as part of the modernisation of the HSR line to Galicia in 2021 and is being co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (EFRE).
