Austrian state railway ÖBB will invest a combined €3.38 billion in the railway infrastructure of various federal states in 2023. The eastern region of the country and the state of Styria will be the main recipients of the funds, receiving €1.2 billion and €642 million respectively. The investments are part of a construction spending package worth €19 billion which runs until 2028. Moreover, under the investment scheme for 2023, the state of Vorarlberg will receive €52 million, Salzburg €171 million, Upper Austria €331 million, Carinthia €379 million, and Tyrol €536 million.
