ÖBB Infrastruktur has presented plans for a 26 km link from Bruck an der Leitha to Vienna Airport that will allow more long-distance and regional trains to travel to the airport. The double-track line will run to Sarasdorf on the Vienna – Hegyeshalom main line, and from there as a four-track line to Bruck an der Leitha. Construction is planned between 2026 and 2032 and will cost €1.7 billion, of which €285.6 million is to be allocated between 2023 and 2028.
