NSW investing €60.5 million in Sydney's rail network

The Australian state of New South Wales (NSW) is investing €60.5 million (AU$97 million) in the maintenance of Sydney's rail network, following an increase in equipment failures and a significant maintenance backlog identified by an investigation by the Australian National Transport Commission. NSW aims to accelerate maintenance activities through the Sydney Rail Repair Plan to avoid long-term rail service restrictions. The maintenance work is initially scheduled for one year. Around 450 km of the network are affected by the repairs.
