Tech company Nevomo is planning to present its technology called MagRail on 5th September 2023, after years of research and testing. As part of the technology, it will be possible to operate levitating trains on existing tracks. The technology, which is a combination of proven solutions in traditional rail transport and modern technologies, enables the full automation, electrification, and digitalisation of existing rail transport systems. With MagRail, existing infrastructure can be equipped with magnetic levitation devices and a linear motor, allowing speeds of up to 550 km/h to be reached. The technology is already being investigated by various European railway companies, including Italian infrastructure operator RFI and French state railway SNCF.
