Mitsubishi wins contract for Malolos – Clark line

The Philippines’ Department of Transportation has awarded a contract worth €625 million (PHP37 billion) to Mitsubishi for electrical and mechanical systems as well as track works for the Malolos – Clark railway line. Funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the project is the second section of the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) to link municipalities in Southern Luzon, Metro Manila and Central Luzon. Scheduled to be completed by June 2025, the 53 km line running along nine stations is expected to reduce travel times between Malolos, Bulcan and Clark to 30 minutes and it will feature the Philippines’ first airport express service, running from Makati to Clark International Airport.
