Lantania/ASCH JV to build HSR line to Madrid Airport

The Spanish infrastructure manager Adif has contracted a joint venture of the construction companies Lantania and ASCH Infraestructuras y Servicios to build an 8.8 km high-speed rail (HSR) line to Madrid Airport. The line will run from Chamartín to Terminal 4 of Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport. Most of the line will be double-tracked and have a gauge of 1,435 mm. The line is scheduled to start operation in 2024.
