The Swiss Committee for Transport and Telecommunications of the National Council (KVF-N) has approved the funding for the adjustments to the expansion stages of the railway infrastructure for the years 2025 and 2035. The adjustments were previously proposed by hearings on the long-term strategy "Perspective RAIL 2050" held by the Committee for Transport and Telecommunications of the Swiss Council of States (KVF-S). Financing is provided by the Rail Infrastructure Fund (BIF), which is why the majority of the committee sees no financial policy objections to the implementation of the measures. The KVF-N also voted in favour of a credit increase of €107 million (CHF 100 million) for rail projects in western Switzerland.
