Ulla Kempf has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Rail Transport at the Association of German Transport Companies (VDV) and is due to take up the post on 1st May 2024. She succeeds Dr Martin Henke, who has held this position since 2000 and is now retiring. Kempf and Henke will jointly manage the Rail Transport division until his retirement in order to ensure a seamless transition. Kempf spent over eleven years in various management roles at Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), most recently as Head of Capacity and Resource Management. She was also spokesperson for the Railway Advisory Group of the EEIG Corridor Rhine-Alpine.
