JV to modernise section of Madrid – Seville HSR line

The Spanish high-speed rail (HSR) infrastructure operator Adif AV has contracted a joint venture (JV) consisting of the construction and planning companies Agrupación Guinovart Obras y Servicios Hispania, Azvi, Convensa, and Ferrovial with the renewal of sleepers and ballast for €34.6 million as part of the modernisation of the Madrid – Seville HSR line. The JV is to lay a total of 123,732 new sleepers and spread 111,475 m³ of ballast on a 65 km section of the line through the provinces of Cordoba and Seville. A first phase of sleeper renewal on 35 km of the line has already been completed.
