Inland Rail shortlists 3 bidders for last 8 projects in Victoria

The promoter of the Inland Rail rail freight transport project has shortlisted CPB Contractors, John Holland, and McConnell Dowell to build the final eight projects in Victoria. The three contractors will now prepare their final designs and construction bids for the section from Beveridge to Albury for the second tranche works at Benalla, Euroa, Broadford, Wandong, Seymour and Tallarook. The tender follows a rigorous expression of interest process that generated high-quality responses from local and national construction companies for Inland Rail. Inland Rail projects in Victoria are being realised at 12 sites to allow double-deck freight trains to pass safely. McConnell Dowell is currently involved in four sites on the first tranche from Beveridge to Albury at Glenrowan, Barnawartha North, Wangaratta and Seymour. The preferred contractor will be announced in mid-2024, with construction of the second tranche starting from 2025.
