Infra consortium to design Niepolomice – Krakow line

Polish infrastructure operator PKP PLK has awarded a consortium of Infra - Centrum Doradztwa and Infra-Projekt a contract worth €1.1 million (PLN 4.6 million) to design the Niepolomice – Krakow railway line. The new railway line will enable the inhabitants of the southern Polish city to travel quickly and efficiently. As part of the contract, the consortium is responsible for preparing design documentation, conducting social consultations, and obtaining the necessary agreements, permits, and environmental decisions. Planning permission is expected in 2026. A new track is planned on the Podgrabie – Niepolomice Dworzec Autobusowy section. Trains will travel at speeds of up to 80 km/h and stop at the three stations MAN, Boryczów, and Niepolomice. The journey on the new Niepolomice – Krakow railway line is planned to take around 30 minutes. The project is part of the government's Kolej Plus programme.
