Hochtief consortium to build second section of Prague metro line D

Prague-based public transport operator DPP has selected a consortium of Hochtief, Subterra, and BeMo Tunnelling to build the second section of metro line D, covering a distance of 3.3 km from Olbractova to Nové Dvory. The contract is worth €1.23 billion (CZK 30 billion). The tunnels for the second section of line D will be excavated using the New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM) and there will be two intermediate stations at Nemocnice Krc and Nádrazí Krc. The tender for the contract attracted three bidders, including a consortium led by Porr and a second led by Strabag. Works on line D began in early 2022 and are scheduled for completion in 2029. Line D will connect Námestí Míru with Olbrachtova and will be 11 km long with ten stations.
