Gülermak, Alstom and Arcadia to build metro line in Cluj-Napoca

The city council of the Romanian city of Cluj-Napoca has awarded a €1.8 billion (RON9 billion) contract for the construction of a metro line to a consortium of Gülermak, Alstom and Arcadia. The 21 km line with 19 stops is the city's first metro line. The first 7.5 km phase runs from Sfânta Maria through the city centre, Gheorgheni and Sopor to Europa Unită, and is scheduled for completion by August 2026. The second 8.8 km phase runs west from Sfânta Maria to Tara Motilor and is scheduled for completion by February 2031.
