Government, PKP PLK, and CPK developing network plan for 2030 - 2040

The Polish Ministry of Infrastructure, Polish rail infrastructure operator PKP PLK, and CPK, the project promoter for Poland's new central airport of the same name, are working together on a stable network plan for rail transport for the years 2030/31 to 2039/40. This also includes a forecast until 2049/50. The plan named Horizontal Timetable (HRJ) takes into account the modernisation and construction of railway lines by CPK as well as the construction of lines within the railway component of CPK. Some railway lines will still be undergoing modernisation and construction between 2030 and 2031, while other investments, such as high-speed rail (HSR) lines and the main railway line, are expected to already be completed. The 2030/2031 timetable will be adjusted in line with the requirements of the Fourth Railway Package to open the Polish long-distance market to non-Polish operators. The implementation of the HRJ is intended to introduce stability and repeatability of connections into the timetable and to make it easier for passengers to use the railway through new standards of transport services. The scope of work and the content solutions of the HRJ correspond to the standards of similar projects in Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Germany and Austria.
