The French government has presented its draft budget for 2024, which will increase funding for the transport sector by €1.6 billion or 13% compared to 2023, rising to €13.3 billion. This includes €8 billion for green mobility, €2 billion for the greening of air and road transport, almost €2 billion for the modernisation of the road network and territorial cohesion, and almost €1 billion for the modernisation of air transport control. Investment in the railway network is to increase by €300 million to €3 billion. Another €3 billion is to be invested in regional balance trains and everyday trains, and €400 million are to be made available to rail freight transport for infrastructure development and operational support.
