Federal Council passes acceleration law for new railway lines

The German Federal Council has adopted the Acceleration Act as passed by the German Federal Parliament. The act approves the new Hamburg – Hanover and Hanover – Bielefeld railway lines and the Brenner northern approach. It also enables accelerated processing of plans for international high-capacity lines, which must be approved within four years, otherwise they are automatically deemed approved.
