€17 million for upgrade of existing Madrid – Barcelona line

Spanish rail infrastructure manager Adif can issue a tender to award a construction contract for the renewal of sleepers on the existing Madrid – Barcelona line in the provinces of Zaragoza and Huesca, worth €17 million, after the Spanish Council of Ministers approved the investment. The works mainly involve the renewal of sleepers on the 76 km San Juan de Mozarrifar (Zaragoza) – Selgua (Huesca) section of the conventional broad-gauge line and also affect Zuera (Zaragoza), Tardienta, Sariñena and Tormillo-Lastanosa (Huesca) stations. The installation of new, polyvalent concrete monoblock sleepers is planned.
