A joint venture (JV) comprising Spanish rail electrification specialists Electren and Syneox has been awarded the first electrification contract for the Murcia –Almería (HSR) high-speed line. The Spanish Ministry of Transport (Mitma), through infrastructure manager Adif AV, awarded the contract with a gross value of €14.14 million for the construction of the substation in Totana. The substation will supply traction power to the Murcia – Lorca section.
