D/Gauge and Cordel to modernise clearance gauge analysis on Amtrak network

A consortium of D/Gauge, the UK subsidiary of TÜV Rheinland, and the Cordel Group have signed a multi-year contract with US rail operator Amtrak to upgrade the railway network's clearance gauge analysis. This contract will enable Amtrak to safely monitor the railway network and assess potential deployment of taller and wider rolling stock. The software and hardware package scans and stores all structural data collected from the entire railway network and automatically calculates and logs clearance information for Amtrak's entire network. The contract, which builds on the power of the software, has a term of six and a half years and relies on Cordel's AI solutions, scanning and data processing systems as well as D/Gauge's clearance analytics technology.
