The development company for the new Polish transport hub Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK) has awarded contracts for the design of the railway line. These concern the first element of the new railway network and the first section for the Kolei Duzych Predkości (KDP) high-speed rail (HSR) line in Poland. The planning of the 140 km HSR line was divided into three tasks. The first task concerns the section from the capital Warsaw to Line 11, meaning the area behind the planned CPK transport hub. The second task concerns a further section of the line up to the city of Lodz, while the third task involves the construction of a GSM-R radio communication network along the entire line. The first task is being carried out by the Biuro Projektów Metroprojekt consortium together with Sud Architekt Polska. A consortium of Egis and Jaf-Geotechnika will be responsible for the second task.
