The Spanish Council of Ministers has authorised the Ministry of Transport (Mitma), through rail infrastructure operator Adif, to tender two contracts for rail profiling and ultrasonic analysis on the broad-gauge and metre-gauge networks, with a total net value of over €65 million and a term of four years. The rail profiling contract, with a net value of €47 million (excluding VAT), is aimed at reducing noise and vibration, extending the service life of the track, and optimizing maintenance costs for track and vehicles. The contract for ultrasonic track monitoring services on lines, with a net estimated value of €18.2 million, also includes manual welding work. The measurement work on the broad-gauge lines is to be realised with an equipped trolley from Adif, while the work on the narrow-gauge network is to be realised with a two-way vehicle.
