On 27th September 2023, Rotterdam-based Hardt Hyperloop started construction of a 420 m Hyperloop test track at the European Hyperloop Center in Veendam. The track, which includes a full Hyperloop lane-switch, is expected to be completed by the end of 2023 and testing is scheduled for the end of 2024. Over 20 organisations and companies, including the Dutch government and the European Union, are supporting the project. The facility will also be available to other companies and organisations.
