Construction of Metro Line 3 North in Seville is about to start

The Andalusian Regional Minister for Spatial Development, Rocío Díaz, has announced the start of construction work on the first section of the northern extension of Line 3 of the Seville Metro in April 2024. In February 2024, the region awarded the construction work for the 2.4 km section in Pino Montano to connect the depot to a joint venture consisting of the construction companies OHL and Guamar for €96 million. Section 2 from Ronda Urbana Norte to San Lázaro was awarded for €132 million, section 3 to Macarena Hospital, the most expensive of the four sections at €208 million, is expected to be awarded shortly. Andalusia is funding the northern extension of the metro between Pino Montano and Prado de San Sebastián with €465 million at 63%.
