Spanish rail infrastructure manager Adif has awarded a consortium of Andaluza de Traviesas, Prefabricados Delta and Prefabricaciones y Contratas a contract worth €11 million for the supply and transportation of the sleepers which will be laid along the third track planned to be built between Bobadilla and Ronda. The third track will run from Bobadilla to Algeciras, Spain’s largest port, and will accommodate both Iberian and standard gauge. Under the contract now awarded, a total of 73,350 sleepers will be installed on the 43 km track between Bobadilla and Ronda.
