Comsa/Civis Global JV receives contract to extend San Julián line

The Spanish rail infrastructure manager Adif has awarded a contract for the extension of the San Julián line by 1.6 km to a joint venture (JV) consisting of Comsa and Civis Global. The contract on the Ourense – Monforte de Lemos – Lugo section of the León – A Coruña line was awarded for €18.6 million. The JV will extend the bypass of La Puebla de San Julián in the province of Lugo by 1.6 km to the east through Láncara and Sarria. The 7.2 km La Puebla de San Julián line started operation in 2018 and replaced an existing line with 14 level crossings. Adif is currently expanding the 117 km Ourense – Monforte de Lemos – Lugo section, which connects to the high-speed rail (HSR) corridor to Galicia from Ourense.
