British Steel invests in new storage facilities for rails in Scunthorpe

UK steel supplier British Steel has started construction of a new rail storage facility at its Scunthorpe site at a cost of €11.7 million (GB£10 million). The facility, which will hold around 25,000 t of finished rails with a length of 108 m, is scheduled for completion in summer 2024. The warehouse will ensure the supply of rails to the UK infrastructure operator Network Rail.
