Brightline West has begun construction of the high-speed rail (HSR) line between Las Vegas and Southern California. The approximately 350 km line will run along the central reservation of Interstate 15 without at-grade crossings and will enable speeds of up to 320 km/h. Funding for the project is based on an allocation of €2.8 billion (US$3 billion) from the US government's Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill and an additional €3.3 billion in private activity bonds from the US Department of Transportation (USDOT).
