On 21st February 2023, Brightline West, the developer of a proposed high-speed rail (HSR) line between Las Vegas and Los Angeles, reached an agreement with several unions on the project. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with the High-Speed Rail Labor Coalition, which is made up of 13 railway unions representing more than 160,000 freight, regional, commuter and passenger rail workers in the US. The MoU includes the use of highly skilled union labour in essential jobs required to operate and maintain the project. The 350 km HSR line will connect Las Vegas and Southern California. The project is worth around €9.4 billion (US$10 billion).
