The Spanish railroad infrastructure managers Adif and Adif AV have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ukrainian state railroad UZ to cooperate on the reconstruction and modernization of the Ukrainian rail network. A pilot project including Spanish technology for automatic lane changing in rail freight transport (SGV) is to be implemented in Ukraine in order to simplify SGV to the countries of the European Union (EU). Adif is developing a system consisting of a wheelset and an axle that automatically switches between the different track gauges and a track switching device installed on the track.
