Adif AV, the infrastructure manager of the Spanish high-speed rail (HSR) network, has started electrification of the new Murcia – Almeria HSR line. Adif AV has invited bids for two measures with a total value of more than €59 million. One contract, worth €43.3 million, includes building the overhead line on the first 62 km Murcia – Lorca section of the line. The construction of a substation in Totana and autotransformer centres in Murcia, Alhama de Murcia, Totana, and Lorca is planned for €15.8 million. Both contracts also include the maintenance of the systems.
