Spanish rail infrastructure operator Adif has awarded a contract for the renewal of the Cercedilla – Cotos section of Madrid's Cercanías suburban railway network to a consortium of ASCH Infraestructuras y Servicios and Cycasa Canteras y Construcciones. The contract, worth €14.9 million, includes the replacement of the tracks and superstructure, measures at stations and improvements in the Navacerrada tunnel within 12 months. Adif tendered the renewal of the overhead line and signalling technology on the line in July 2023 for €23.8 million. The project is being supported by funds from the European Union's Next Generation Plan.
