The Spanish high-speed rail (HSR) infrastructure manager Adif AV has invited bids for a contract to replace 47 switches on the Madrid – Seville HSR line. Adif AV is investing €64.5 million in materials and works for the second phase of switch renewal on the 470 km line. The first phase, with the replacement of 63 switches, is 62% complete, according to Adif AV. In total, Adif AV is replacing 110 switches with modern components for 350 km/h maximum speed as part of the modernisation of Spain's first HSR line at a total cost of €680 million.
