Adif and Stadler start homologation tests for measuring train

Adif and Stadler have started the approval tests for a measuring train for the existing network. The Swiss manufacturer is building three self-propelled measurement trains with electric and diesel drive and maximum speeds of 200 km/h and 180 km/h for the Spanish railway infrastructure operator at its Siedlce plant in Poland for €74.4 million. The tests of one vehicle in the Alcalá de Chivert (Castellón) – L'Aldea (Tarragona) section were used to test driving dynamics, brakes, and the general functioning of the drive systems. The test train has the signalling equipment for the Spanish train control system Asfa and the European solution ERTMS, the GSM-R and Wi-Fi communication systems, uninterruptible power supply systems, as well as measuring equipment for track and overhead line geometry and dynamics, odometry and optical inspection of the track and overhead line.
