The Italian Wegh Group, in cooperation with the Egyptian construction company Engineering Institution of Civil Work (EICW), will develop concrete sleepers for a major high-speed rail (HSR) project in Egypt. With a total length of over 2,000 km, the project is one of the largest railway projects in North Africa in recent decades. The EICW technical teams were prepared for the production process of the concrete sleepers through a special training by Wegh Group in Italy. Meanwhile, the installation and putting into operation phase of the EICW sleeper production plant in Egypt has been completed and the production of the pre-stressed concrete sleeper RFI260 has been officially started. In addition, Wegh Group will provide comprehensive after-sales service support and the possibility of dedicated remote support.
