Test runs began on 5th November 2023 for the East Nile Monorail line and the western extension of Metro Line 3 in Cairo. The western extension of Metro Line 3 is scheduled to start operation by January 2024. The East Nile Monorail line is scheduled to be operational in April 2024, while the 42 km West Nile Monorail line is currently still under construction. French manufacturer Alstom is supplying 70 four-car Innovia 300 monorail trains. The first two vehicles were delivered in September 2021.
