The Egyptian Ministry of Transport has signed an agreement with a joint venture (JV) between the French companies Egis and Setec for the second phase of studies for the 34 km metro line 6 in Cairo. The period extends over 18 months. The companies have already realised the first phase of studies for line 6, which aims to reduce congestion on the existing metro line 1 and connect it to metro lines 1, 3 and 4. The French government is supporting the project with a grant of €8 million.
