EC approves founding of JV for construction of Lobito corridor section

Under EU Merger Regulations, the European Commission (EC) has approved the founding of a joint venture (JV) by the Trafigura Group of Singapore and Mota-Engil of Portugal. The JV named Lobito Atlantic Holdings will build, maintain, and operate a railway line in Angola as part of the Lobito corridor. Trafigura is an independent commodities trader specialising in the oil, minerals, and metals markets. Mota-Engil is a multinational company mainly active in construction and infrastructure management in various sectors.
