Network Rail publishes Strategic Business Plan for 2024-2029

UK infrastructure operator Network Rail has published its initial Strategic Business Plan for the next regulatory Control Period 7 (CP7) running from 1st April 2024 to 31st March 2029. The plan defines how Network Rail is planning to spend €50.6 billion (GB£44 billion) on operating and maintaining the network in England and Wales. The Office of Rail and Road (ORR) will now review the initial business plan and publish its draft determination later in 2023. This will set out the targets it will require Network Rail to deliver in CP7, and the associated incentives. In summer 2023, Network Rail will publish a separate business plan for Scotland, where its outputs and funding are determined by the devolved Scottish government rather than the UK government.
