NSW reviewing Sydney metro projects due to cost increase

The government of the Australian state of New South Wales (NSW) is currently reviewing the City & South West Metro project in Sydney because the costs have risen from about €11.3 billion (AU$18.5 billion) to €12.3 billion. The West metro line will also cost over €15.3 billion instead of €11 billion. While reviews of delivery models and cost increases are underway, work on the lines is expected to continue. However, the government may make changes to construction programmes, including not implementing some projects.
