New South Wales proposes four new metro lines in Sydney

The New South Wales government considers the construction of four new metro lines in the west of Sydney to improve public transport and access to the new Western Sydney Airport. The government will spend €117.9 million (AU$181.6 million) in business cases for the final plans. If approved, all lines will total 100 km. The first line would run from the terminus of the North West Line at Tallawong to St Marys and a second line would run from Bankstown via Liverpool to Glenfield. There would be another two metro lines from Westmead and Macarthur, both running to Western Sydney Airport, which is scheduled to open in 2026.
